Project Description

The goal of my thesis is to translate the mediums of typography and fashion design through the application of photography and publication design. As a visual communicator, my goal is to have an in-depth understanding of digital and physical mediums across the board. I have learned the psychological applications of typography and the structural similarities it shares with fashion. Through photography, I was able to capture these similarities and bring them together into one picture plane to present them. Through publication design, I was able to create a cohesive guide to highlight some of the major categories of typographic design with their accompanying fashion photography. This publication is called LUMLYPHIC: Font Fashion.
